Sanctify ye a fast,
call a solemn assembly,
gather the elders and all the
inhabitants into the house of
the LORD your God,
and cry unto the LORD,
Into the House of the LORD
your God

Alas for the day!
for the day of the LORD is
at hand,
and as a destruction
from the Almighty shall it come.

Alas for the day of

Blow ye the trumpet in
Zion,
sound an alarm in my holy
mountain:
let all the inhabitants of the land
tremble:

turn ye even to me with all
your heart,
and with fasting,
and with weeping,
and with mourning:
rend your heart,

and not your garments,
and turn unto the LORD
your God:
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger,
and of great kindness,

Gather the people,
sanctify the congregation,
assemble the elders,
gather the children
let the bridegroom go forth
of his chamber,
and the bride out of her closet.
